It was quite a moving Christmas Dinner. CLC celebrated the birth of Christ, fine Mexican fare, and the ministry of Brother and Sister Cordova of Willcox Arizona. Their son, Pedro Jr., spoke of their 50-year ministry career. Their ministry has been dotted by several times of hardship including having to live and sleep in their church kitchen for two years due to low income. What was even more telling is that even though the Pastors were known for their tremendous acts of giving and self-sacrifice, they had never been formally honored by a ministry or church body, including their own! The presence of the Lord was strong in the room and all felt a heavy sense of gratitude, appreciation and respect for these veteran ministers (Pastor Pedro Sr. is approaching 80 years old and is still travelling and working hard for his church). Martha and Danny dedicated the song "Breathe/Eres Mi Respirar" to the couple. The Lord burdened their hearts to do this small gesture of gratitude. All present joined in with strong voices lifting up a chorus of praise to God for calling the Cordovas into ministry and to CLC's sister church in Willcox. The Cordovas, who suffered Pauline-type hardships, prove that age, congregation size, pastoral income all do not matter. They prove that what matters is obedience to the Lord and to His call.
